Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is a spinoff of the Danganronpa series that takes a changed, more lighthearted approach compared to the usual intense and dramatic themes of the main games. Instead of the usual life or death killing games, this one is about a summer camp for the students of Hope's Peak Academy, where they get the chance to enjoy much needed relaxation.
The game takes place on a tropical island, where the characters from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony all come together. The atmosphere is more fun and friendly everyone is hanging out, enjoying games, and interacting with other. But don’t let that distract you, while it’s more cheerful, the usual Danganronpa charm of bizarre humor and quirky character interactions is still there. Gameplay is focused around a game like system, where you move around a grid and take part in different activities to win rewards, reveal new events, and build relationships with other characters.
