I really wanted to like this but I honestly can't recommend it. Everything seems to work fine at first and the game boots up no problem, but as soon as you actually get invested and get far into a game it just dies.

I have dealt with constant errors that make it impossible to finish a game. This has happened across multiple campaigns now. Sometimes it happens as early as 1943, and in my most recent game I finally got to 1946 before I got the same checksum error as before and the save was totally unplayable. It is just a constant issue no matter the year. I even tried asking for help on the discord and gave them my error logs to show what was happening but I was just ignored. It is a huge letdown to put hours of effort into multiple campaigns only for it to break right when things are getting good. If you are going to play this, you are probably better off just playing without any DLCs because they seem to be what's breaking everything. If you want something reliable that you can actually play to the end, this isn't it.

Note for the devs if you actually read this: My logs are full of dlc.cpp:142 checksum mismatches and history file errors like IRQ_kamil_shabib and CHI_claire_lee_chennault being "not a valid idea." Even the save dates are getting corrupted into nonsense numbers. Please look into your DLC validation.

I have a lot of fun with this game. I only play it with mods. It does take a while to learn, but worth it.
