There is no better RTS out there. this is truly the pinnacle and it still gets updated and the campaigns can range from easy to hellish difficulty

This and AOE III are the pinnacle of RTS Games. AOE II has a more retor graphics vibe. I can wholeheartedly recommend both

If I want to play local mp with my friends, should i go with this or the HD? Does this support local mp by itself or we have to setup ageLANserver from github?

For everyone that can't run the game. You need to double click on "Run me!. bat" instead of aoe2de.exe. Hope this helps.

after the point of around 45gb the game stops downlaoding any fix to that?

Hi everybody, thank you for the great work you’re doing.


I’m also having an issue starting the game. When I launch it, nothing happens and the game does not run at all.

I have already installed the Microsoft packages, DirectX, Microsoft XNA, and OpenAL 1.1. I also added the game folder as an exclusion in Windows Security, but the problem still persists.


I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Hello mates,

I am having a problem with the game, It won't start.

I just finished downloading it and did as said by the great Ankergames team "simply just launch it" but he I try to it does nothing, I opened task manger to see if RAM goes up(it opened) or not but the RAM is not effected so its not running at all. How to fix this?

Hi there, first of all, thanks to Anker for all these pre-installed games that don't require any installation and for sharing them for people to download and enjoy playing. I'm having an issue when playing this game. After I unzip and run the apps to play, the map shows up with no units or resources on it and so on. Just the pathway, I can't even see my units or the forest. I thought it was a graphics issue, then I tried fixing my graphic but it still doesn't help.
