Tetris Effect: Connected
Tetris Effect: Connected

Tetris: Effect - Connected is an absolutely stunning experience, blending lovingly crafted music that sticks with you even after completing the main mode of the game and the familiar Tetris experience with a phenomenal visual experience that symbolizes beautiful things, such as iconic history moments, the ocean and other various things in a spectacularly well-done way that makes the overall game extremely enjoyable to play, whether you choose to experience it in Virtual Reality, flatscreen or a handheld console, the game is overall one of the best and most beautiful Tetris experiences you will ever have from start-to-finish.

Dispatch

Dispatch is one of the latest and more immensely popular choices matter games on the rise where you follow a middle-aged Robert Robertson III as he tries to manage a team of supervillains and rehabilitate them into heroes while also managing the destruction of the suit that he uses to don his secret superhero identity, Mecha Man. The game is honestly so mediocre. I tried to like it since it looked like a good game on social media, but the end product is unbearably boring and disappointing. The one thing I’ll give it props for is the pre-rendered cutscenes which makes modding difficult but also makes optimization amazing so if you have a lower-end rig, you’re almost completely guaranteed to be able to enjoy this game in its entirety, but outside of that, this game just wasn’t good or fun. The story was basic, the characters were arguably the only enjoyable part of this game even though a lot of the time they were obnoxious to listen to, the gameplay loop is very tedious and feels beyond stupid at times, the romance options just suck, the fanbase has progressively gotten more and more lame as the game’s popularity diminishes and it’s overall just such a mediocre attempt to be as great as a game created by Telltale, featuring some of Telltale’s voice actors and a lot of notable actors like Laura Bailey voicing Invisigal (the worst character in the whole game) who has also voiced many characters in the Persona franchise, The Last of Us: Part II’s Abby, Kait Diaz in Gears of War and many other roles, Yung Gravy, a very popular white rapper, M0istCritikal, a popular critique youtuber and overall just a stellar cast, but this means next to nothing when the only redeemable quality of this game is its characters and maybe the soundtrack.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted is a stellar VR title that ports over many of the older FNaF games while adding its own unique and enjoyable minigames to add variety and incorporating an interesting story that, while breaking the fourth wall, does it extremely well and does a great job at what it attempts to do. The graphics also look basic, but great and don’t require an unbearably large amount of power to run on a computer and the minigames don’t normally feel like they’re cheapshotting you and instead feel like an instance of genuine trial and error. This game is definitely worth your time and even more so if you’re a VR player and like the FNaF franchise as much as someone like me does.

R.E.P.O

An okay game at best in my opinion. R.E.P.O is an online multiplayer survival horror physics-based game where you and your friends must navigate various buildings, hunting down items to sell to hit your allotted quota to be extracted and survive while avoiding varying threats that range from adorable to deadly. This game looks like a blast when you watch others play it, however, upon playing it for myself, I was just extremely bored and disappointed with the end product. The game does get continuous support, yes, but the game is just extremely boring and easily wears out its novelty and identity within just three hours of playtime. Easily worth maybe one or two play sessions or more with a friend, but outside of that, a boring experience that can easily be replaced by literally any other game on this website.

A small and basic, but enjoyable game that set the basis for games like it. Granny is a fun, enjoyable, scary, thrilling and just overall great horror game that follows you, an abductee from a psychotic grandmother, attempting to escape Granny’s house within a five day time-span before she kills you, where you have to navigate the confines of her house, use whatever weapons you have available to your advantage and escape with your wits and capabilities.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm
Life is Strange: Before the Storm

LiS: BtS is a great tie-in prequel to the critically acclaimed Life is Strange, but in this game, you control sixteen year old delinquent, Chloe Price as she navigates through many turmoils alongside a new found friend, Rachel Amber around the familiar town of Arcadia Bay where in this game, you’re introduced to many new characters, new gameplay mechanics and more impressive and visually stunning graphics and emotionally gripping moments alongside a phenomenal story as the game plays out. This game is easily worth your time. While only spanning three episodes, Awake, Brave New World and Hell is Empty, excluding the bonus Deluxe Edition exclusive Farewell that ties into what took place roughly three years prior to Before the Storm, the game has an amazingly well-written story and highlights exceptionally well the dynamic relationship between D.A’s daughter Rachel Amber and high school drop-out (depending on your choices) Chloe Price as well as fleshing out some of the other characters who you meet and interact with in the game that came out before this one, Life is Strange. If you liked Life is Strange 1, this game will be an absolute must-play for you and really helps nail the duology’s story leading up to Double Exposure and Reunion.
