From the creator of Pony Island and The Hex comes the latest mind melting, self-destructing love letter to video games. Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscribed upon the cards... The single greatest deck-building roguelike escape room haunted game I've ever played. It suffers in the later portions of the game; the high stakes and deep intrigue severely diminish by Act 3, but the gameplay is more than good enough to warrant pushing through.
I thoroughly enjoyed Inscryption! As someone who can't handle horror very well, this game had just enough to make it intriguing without keeping me from sleeping. I love how the story is gradually revealed, giving you time to learn the mechanics of the card game and become familiar with the cards. If you like deck building card games or TCGs this game will be right up your alley. Once you unlock Kaycee's Mod the card game becomes great for casual play. It has a lot of replay-ability and offers a bunch of challenges to make the game more difficult. Castle Crashers
