In Dead Space™ 2, you join Isaac Clarke, the Systems Engineer from Dead Space, as he wakes up three years after the horrific events on the USG Ishimura. The Ishimura was a Planetcracker-class starship besieged by grotesque reanimations of its dead crew, known as “Necromorphs.” After unearthing a strange artifact known as the Marker, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn.
Much like the first game, Dead Space 2 continues to deliver on its haunting atmosphere, twisting narrative, and grotesque space horror. I enjoyed this game a lot as a survival horror fan, and although there were some segments that left me feeling frustrated and glad to move past them once I managed to eek out progress (probably due to me just not being good) the game was very good overall. One sequence towards the end (if you've played the game, there's no mistaking it) still has me wincing in pain like I did when I was playing the game.
